Chilton County is a county located in the central region of the state of Alabama, in the United States. The county seat is Clanton, and the county's largest city is Jemison. According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 701 square miles (1,814 km²), of which 693 square miles (1,794 km²) is land and 8.2 square miles (21 km²) (1.2%) is water. 

As of the 2020 census, the population of Chilton County was estimated to be 44,361 people. The county is known for its agriculture, including peaches, strawberries, and cattle, as well as its natural resources such as timber and minerals. 

Chilton County is home to several notable attractions, including the Chilton County Peach Festival, held annually in Clanton, and the Confederate Memorial Park, located in Marbury. The county is also home to the Alabama Power Company's Mitchell Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant, which provides electricity to the surrounding region.
